Want To Try Kiteboarding? by Tricia Oliver

Kitesurfing is a type of surface water sports. Just like wakeboarding, kitesurfing also needs a surfboard. The only variation with these two sports is that kitesurfing has a kite to propel the summer winds. Sounds very exciting, right? The wind power is one of the main factors so that you can enjoy this sport.

The thrill of controlling the kite and the same time riding in the waves is what makes kitesurfing a very interesting sport. Kitesurfers enjoy the thrill of this sport by riding on their boards and controlling the kite by means of a handle attached to the riders' hip. Using the handle, the riders can now control their beautiful kites overhead and surf the great waves or just sail on calm waters.

It was way back in the 80s that kitesurfing was invented but it really became very popular in the 90s. Since then, this sport has gained worldwide attention and recognition. Generally speaking, kitesurfing means wave-riding and that is what the sport is all about - ride with the waves. Today, kitesurfers have taken the sport to a whole new level and that is performing those awesome tricks!

One of these stunts is the jumping tricks where kiteboarders jump as high as fifty feet in the air and travel to as much as one hundred feet while performing tricks and stunts like that of snowboarders or wakeboarders. A more simple trick turning, where the kitesurfer put the kite into neutral, halting, maneuvering the board into the water and then turning the kite in the opposite direction, and starts again.

But, just like other sports, kitesurfing has its danger side. In order for you to avoid suffering kitemares, choose a kitesurf location. It is advised that a beach with a steady breeze and small waves are the best for beginners. Also, learn first the basics and seek professional help. Many new riders have attempted controlling the kites without proper knowledge and guidance and they ended up in accidents. Ouch!

Do not be like them. Instead, be like professional kitesurfers who control the magnificent and colorful kites atop Belmont Shore. You can also share the same experience with the surfers in Long Beach and also the Seal Beach. For you to enjoy it, have the right kiteboarding equipment like kites, boards, suits and helmet. And remember, only start kiteboarding kitesurf for real if you are properly trained in the sport.
